Final Four Saturday

Final Four Saturday was an electric feeling. It was the largest crowd in Final Four history at 72,456, and the 2nd largest crowd in NCAA basketball history (behind Michigan State and Kentucky with 78,129, at this same Ford Field in 2003). With the game in Detroit, there was a definite home town flavor for the Spartans. When I entered the stadium, there was Green & White everywhere. I've told everyone I've talked to that it seemed the 65,000 of the 72,456 people in attendance were MSU fans. It was a MSU home game more than I could ever have imagined. It will be more so on Monday after all the UConn and Villanova fans sold their tickets to Monday's game to Spartan fans.

The highlight of the evening had to be the Durrell Summers dunk over Stanley Robinson. The crowd erupted!

Here are the game highlights, provided by ESPN, of the Michigan State's 82-73 victory over UConn, as well as UNC's 83-69 victory over Villanova.

I'll post pictures of the atmosphere of Saturday's and tonight's game later this week.
