1. Lions- Andre Smith, T, Alabama
(Everyone is calling for them to take QB, Big mistake they need O-line and Defense help. They should trade down if possible and acquire more picks. Lots of holes to fill)

Hey, JD. It's never too early to project the draft. As a Detroit-area native, I have to agree with you that the Lions do not need a QB with the first pick, and should trade down.
ReplyDeleteI think the Lions should talk to Seattle, who currently has picks #4 and #36. I checked with the famous draft value board, and the first pick in the draft can roughly equate to picks #4, #36, and a player. If I was Matt Millen, er, the Lions GM, I'd take A. Smith (as you said) at #4, an impact defensive player at #36, and one of Seattle's young starters in the front seven - like Lawrence Jackson - DE - USC? The Lions would also have pick #20 from Dallas, their own second-rounder at #33, and two third-rounders, including one from Dallas. All they have to do is draft well here, and the foundation could be laid for years to come...
